No, no, no and also shhhh

It is a GIF, how cool is that?

Maggie has got the finger-shaking "no" down. Hysterical.

I realized this weekend that the difference between Hannah and Maggie is sort of epitomized in the way Maggie picks up her dolls, pats their backs and shushes them. Shushing was never a part of Hannah's doll-playing repertoire. The combo goal of comforting and quieting has been way more integral in my parenting of Maggie. But I have a feeling (hope? prayer?) that we are getting to the end of our shushing days. Maggie is (please, pretty please) coming into a more verbal, happy, less fussy time in her childhood.

I'll get back to my book reviews this week. I had to take a break to become obsessed with buying and decorating houses. But here is a great article I read this weekend: Positive Reinforcement: 9 Things You Shouldn't Say to Your Child

  1. oh gosh, that little GIF is way too much to handle. absolutely adorable! hope you get to the end of your shushing days soon ;)

  2. These diapers are SUPER absorbent. We've changed more than one leak from expensive diapers and most of them were all from 'weird angle!' accidents and the diapers were barely wet. With honest diapers you go to change the diaper and it's as heavy as a softball and you're just flabbergasted. They pull everything away from his skin, and are simply wonderful.
